In preparation for my upcoming trip to Brazil for the Sao Paulo Bienal I wanted to write about two artists whose films I have found to be transformative. Ai Weiwei’s Never Sorry and Vik Muniz’ Wasteland are two films that successfully give you access to the mind of the artist and the world they are trying to change.
I never thought 100 days would go by so fast. I feel like I hit the ground running and haven’t quite slowed down. Looking back at what we have been able to accomplish, the challenges we have faced and the opportunities that we have identified it’s no wonder I feel like I have been on a long distance race since September.
On April 3rd I was honored by the Henry Street Settlement during its annual gala recognizing people that have contributed to the wellbeing of their community. It was a humbling experience to have been honored by an institution that has done so much for the Hispanic community in New York City.
I am excited to announce our latest business venture: we have partnered with Cuponidad for its launch in Venezuela. Cuponidad will now offer Venezuelan consumers a place to purchase services, products and travel packages at a huge discount. This is just one of what we hope will be many launches throughout Latin America.
While in Miami last week, I participated in the send-off party for the Geeks on a Plane Latin America Tour. I was one of three panelists invited to talk to this group of about 40 entrepreneurs the night before they set off on a 10-day tour to Mexico City, Sao Paolo and Buenos Aires.

Monday, October 8th marked the beginning of the MIPCOM conference in Cannes, which will wrap up on Friday the 12th. It is encouraging to see the audiovisual industry continuing to be strong, commercial deals being conducted between countries and organizations worldwide, and how the media industry, continues to prove that it does not deserve the stigma of being traditional or outdated.
