In the spirit of entrepreneur week I want to tell you about my latest trip to Brazil. I was there for 21212’s Demo Day where the 10 companies from the most recent incubation cycle presented. (See Demo Day website to read about each one!).
If you like art, this is the time to go to Brazil. Here is a short guide of how to do it in three days.
Day 1: Visit the Sao Paolo Bienal (https://www.bienal.org.br/). This is the 30th edition of the Bienal, and in sixty years many think that it’s the best one yet.
In preparation for my upcoming trip to Brazil for the Sao Paulo Bienal I wanted to write about two artists whose films I have found to be transformative. Ai Weiwei’s Never Sorry and Vik Muniz’ Wasteland are two films that successfully give you access to the mind of the artist and the world they are trying to change.
On March 16th the digital accelerator 21212 had its first demo day in Rio. I had the honor of mentoring three of the companies that presented – Simpply, Ainda Tem and iTrip.
The use of business incubators in Latin America is a good way to get new companies to achieve success through specialized mentoring. This mentoring encourages new business development and entrepreneurship, helping to stimulate positive changes in the society and the economy of a country.
